IN A RELATIVELY SHORT SPACE OF TIME, THANKS TO THE SUPPORT OF CONCERNED INDIVIDUALS AND SPONSORS, THE REFUGE HAS UNDERGONE A SIGNIFICANT TRANSFORMATION.

Before the war, the Gostomel animal shelter was known as a simple, ordinary place, devoid of resources. Windows, doors and furniture were usually salvaged from landfill sites.

Large-scale warfare has brought further destruction and caused enormous damage. However, thanks to the help of committed individuals and foundations, the shelter has managed to be renovated and updated over the past two years.

THE ROOF WAS REPAIRED, NEW WINDOWS WERE INSTALLED ALMOST EVERYWHERE, NEW FLOORS WERE LAID, AND THE PADDOCKS WERE RESTORED WITH AWNINGS. THESE IMPROVEMENTS SHOW JUST HOW MUCH SIGNIFICANT CHANGE CAN BE ACHIEVED THROUGH COMMUNITY SOLIDARITY AND SUPPORT, EVEN IN THE MOST DIFFICULT OF CIRCUMSTANCES.
